Wizkid ft Drake – “Come Closer”

‘Wizzybaba’ aka ‘Daddy Yo’ aka Wizkid has released the music video for what he refers to as his “first single” , Come Closer, featuring none other than Drake. Strapped with a green leather vest and blonde hair, Wizkid shows off a few moves to make the ladies come closer. Though Drake doesn’t make an appearance in the video, Bria Myles, Chasity Samone, and a few other familiar cameos make up for it. The two have worked together in the past, once with Ojuelegba Remix, and again with One Dance… which still hits a sore spot because of how little Wizkid’s contribution was. Nevertheless, this song is actually an official version of “Hush up the Silence” that leaked back in January – which was met with mixed reviews. It may not be the breakout hit we were expecting from the superstar but only time will tell. It’s still a good song to jam to, and it will most likely on repeat in the clubs, because let’s face it, African artists are poppin’ right now. In a season of hits (Davido’s “If”, Runtown’s “Mad Over You“etc.), we’re still expecting Wizkid to deliver us that summer smash. Until then, you can watch the video, directed by our guy Daps, below.
