R.I.P. Ebony, the Rising Star Has Left Us.

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known widely as Ebony Reigns, was a Ghanaian dancehall & afrobeats artist who captured the hearts of many near and afar in a rather short amount of time. Ebony died in a terrible head-on collision on Sunyani-Kumasi Road in Ghana riding with a friend and two others after visiting her mother. Only the driver managed to survive. Many grew fond of the Rufftown Records artist due to her unapologetic personality and how she just did not care what naysayers said about her, all she cared about was the music. Her music conveyed a message all while being danceable and fun. With millions of views on YouTube and a critically acclaimed debut album released last December, Ebony was a rising star who had so much more to give the world. The original 90’s Bad Gyal may be gone but the music and art she created will live forever. Many condolences to her family and friends in this tough time.

She would have been 21 today.

Rest in peace Ebony, you’ll never be forgotten and thank you for sharing your talents with the world.

Incase you may not be familiar with her work, we have curated a short playlist of some our favorite songs by her, check it out below, and let’s make sure her music continues to Reign.
