J.Derobie Releases new single, ‘Back It’

Coming off a strong 2019 with his official debut single, Poverty, under Mr. Eazi’s “Empawa Africa” label and then scoring a major remix with Jamaican dancehall superstar Popcaan, J. Derobie is back at it again. That’s not too bad for your first major outing as an artist. The Ghanaian Dancehall & Reggae artist drops his first 2020 single, “Back It”.

‘Back It’ is produced by talented ace producer Uche B who has produced for the likes of new school Ghanaian artists; RJZ, Kwesi Arthur, and so many more. The dancehall-inspired production boasts dark synths and strong drums that complement Derobie’s flow. This single comes after Killertunes produced “Odo Bra“.

‘Back It’ sang primarily in Patois showcases J. Derobie’s dedication to the Reggae & Dancehall genres. J. Derobie highlights his “badness” and his dedication to cementing his place in the Ghanaian music industry. This is even more evident in the video as we see J. Derobie training in a boxing gym getting ready for a fight to retain his title and as a military commander. Check it out below and anticipate J. Derobie’s aptly titled album, A King Is Born, coming soon!
